Tyronne B. Walker serves as Senior Advisor to the Mayor and Communications Director. Upon the Honorable Mitch Landrieu’s election as New Orleans’s 61st Mayor on May 3, 2011, Walker was appointed to the positions of Special Assistant to the Mayor and Faith-Based Advisor.

During his tenure with the Landrieu Administration, Walker has served the community in a variety of roles including Project Manager on the Mayor’s Innovation Delivery Team and Director of CeaseFire New Orleans. He has also assisted in writing and leading the city’s NOLA for Life Murder Reduction Strategy. Prior to serving in his current role, he serves as Senior Advisor to the Mayor for Local Affairs where he oversaw Local Government Affairs and Community Engagement.
Outside of working in public service, Walker has demonstrated success in the private sector as Chief Operating Officer of the Law Office of Wayne E. Woods and Alpha Title Company and owner of Walker Strategic Solutions, LLC, a full service consulting firm he started in 2015that specializes in strategy development, project management and political campaigns.
Walker is a native of the New Orleans’ 9th Ward and is a proud graduate of Brother Martin High School. Walker went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont. Following his graduation from St. Michael’s College, Walker returned to New Orleans to aid in recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina.

Walker is active in civic leadership serving on a number of boards in founding roles including Miller-McCoy Academy for Mathematics and Business and Son of a Saint Foundation. Walker serves as President of the Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and is a member of the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church.

 Learning to Love Being Kind. Pastor’s Tuesday Night Study-

The Spirituality of Imperfection 6:15 PM-7:30 PM, beginning, 1-16-2018, upstairs conference room. All invited. We are focusing on Micah 6.8: And what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?   Our daily spiritual discipline is: “to practice loving kindness, while not giving up on justice, by trusting God with our vengeance.”

eekers Class where questions are encouraged, listening is required and hearts are accepted.   Come and join co-leaders Dan Thelen and Kahlida Lloyd in what will be a time of exploring how God can meet us right where we are and help us grow through seeking and discussion.
