First Grace Drama Ministry  

Presents 5 original plays written, directed, and performed by members of  
First Grace.  
June 15th at 7pm and June 16th at 2pm in the  
Fellowship Hall.   
Pay-what-you-can! Come one and all!
 
Sunday immediately after worship, there will be a meeting for Vacation Bible School volunteers, teachers, and Youth Ministry staff in the Parlor.

The parents of the Youth Choir will meet with Min. Jackson after worship on Sunday June 17th, immediately after worship.

Vacation Bible School June 17-21, more information to come.

Weeders Needed!  We are trying to keep our beautiful Memorial Garden
relatively weed-free during the summer months.  This is the courtyard
located between the lobby and the chapel, which is enjoyed and appreciated
by so many people.  If you can give a couple of hours of your time, please

LEARNING

 Seekers Class where questions are encouraged, listening is required and hearts are accepted.   Come and join co-leaders Dan Thelen and Kahlida Lloyd in what will be a time of exploring how God can meet us right where we are and help us grow through seeking and discussion. Classes are at 10:00AM each Sunday in the Parlor.

June 10 Parables of God’s Just Kingdom

Purpose: To understand God’s redemptive justice and how we can enable others to experience it. (Scripture: Matthew 13:24-43)    

 

June 17 Jesus Teaches About Justice

 

Purpose: To affirm through actions how we can live in the spirit of the law.   (Scripture: Matthew 15:1-9)

Green Tip Do you recycle? First Grace does! Look for the BLUE containers

throughout the church buildings. Use them for paper, plastic, metal
recyclables. No STYROFOAM, No PLASTIC BAGS, No SOILED PAPER

PRODUCTS!!! No GLASS

 

SERVING 
Tuesday Meal Ministry will continuing offering our homecooked meals
on Tuesday May 22nd and Tuesday May 29th at 12:30pm.  Interested
volunteers are invited to help prepare, serve, or clean up any time between
10:30am and 2:30pm.  And we need desserts!  If you are interested in any of
these ministry opportunities, please contact Dan Thelen at
Summer Backpack Program will start on Thursday, May 24th.
Interested volunteers are invited to help pack and distribute backpacks
between 2:00-6:00 PM each Thursday. Contact Stephanie in the Church
office for more information.

Desmond Project Looking for a way to make a difference in our community. The Desmond Project provides a healthy, nutritious meal to the men, women and children at the New Orleans Mission every Saturday evening. Contact Jackie Vinson at blaqjacque@gmail.com.

Sanctuary Opportunities
While Jose takes Sanctuary in First Grace,
the Sanctuary Hospitality Committee has been asked to support
Jose’s family the following ways: Family Transportation (sign up

pre-paid visa cards with the church office any time).
